    Tomberlin E-MERGE E2 SS Review

Tomberlin was started back in 2007 and has had a rocky journey until 2016 as they are back on the top of their game in the golf cart business, and the E-merge SS has been a staple as a top of the line model for years. The Tomberlin E-Merge SS aligns directly with the brand promise when they discuss “Safety, Performance and Styling.” The unit is outfitted with a slew of standard safety features such as 3-point safety seat belts, 4-wheel hydraulic brakes, and all the headlights, brake lights, and other lighting needs to ensure people will see you driving on the road. The vehicle has 2 seats facing forward and an optional rear seat to be installed.

The Tomberlin E-merge SS unit has a 450 AMP controller allowing it to have enough power to get you and your friends/family around the neighborhood. It also allows for much quicker acceleration then all other Tomberlin models when hitting the road in style. This is definitely a good reason to upgrade. However, more acceleration does lead to a quicker battery drain. With an 8-6V battery pack, there should not be much to worry about though. Also, to its benefit, as a standard, all Tomberlins have an on-board charger to make it easier to charge where ever you can find an outlet.

So, now the question remains, why would I upgrade to the SS? What is there to offer? Well, first off, you will be getting some highly customized seating with a tastefully etched logo into the headrest. Not something you typically find out there in the market. In addition, you will find 12” Steel Belted Radials on the unit as well. Now, the LE has 12” wheels, but what makes them different. They are steel belted, and not your typical nylon tires. It improves the ride on the road while extending the life of your tires by almost 5 times. Double win for the customer. There are a few other features, however these are the main ones. We recommend test driving them all to see what suits you best.

Poor customer service and warranty appears to be less than responsive.
My 91 year old mother purchased a brand new Ez Go Freedom Electric Cart from Sun City Golf Carts in Sun City Center, FL. The golf cart has had issues from day #1. First it was charging. That involved multiple calls to the vendor only to find the charging unit was defective. They eventually replaced it and it worked for awhile. She had the one month maintenance appt and discovered the battery had almost zero water in the battery. They filled it and approximately a couple weeks later the cart would not start. The dealer eventually picked up the cart and that was almost 2 weeks ago tomorrow. The charging unit was not programmed correctly and it fried the batteries. They will not replace the batteries without the EZGO approval. So my mother's only form of transportation is sitting in the service garage. I have asked for a loaner and for the dealer to put new batteries in while they wait for the authorization as it is brand new. He refuses to do anything. I have left a message for the company and am waiting for a call back.

    Terrible products
It’s insane to me that EZ-GO can make such a terrible product with such a big price tag. Do not waste your time buying this golf cart. My EZ-GO left me stranded yesterday because the brake solenoid decided to go out again, when I just replaced it last year. The brakes will literally just lock up and make the entire golf cart powerless. When a vehicle company can’t figure out how to fix a braking defect I don’t buy anymore of their products. Zero product advancement these golf carts are Trash. The ONLY good thing about these carts is they are fast when they work.

    This is a great model!
We love it for our kids, it's fun for the whole family and we would highly recommend! We have a custom model with 14" rims, a windshield and custom upholstered seats. We have been thinking to get a hitch to pull the garden wagon around too!

    I like it
I like my 2019 Ezgo 4 passenger golf cart.

Pros: nice ride, decent amount of storage, led lights and loud horn. tinted windshield, turning key to off makes lights, horn and turn signals cannot be turned on.

Cons: Roof does not cover rear passengers, no seatbelts, turn signals do not turn off when making a turn, cup holders area does not seem tight noisy when going over bumps.

Better body style than Club Car
EZGO has a better body style than Club Car. The seats are more comfortable and I feel a better value than the others.

It has been a solid workhorse
It has been a solid workhorse - the batteries are costly and there have been issues holding a charge lately, but for a 12 year old cart it has done fine

Good for what I use it for
I have a 2014 ez go TXT model. Purchased used, runs great, quick, great for my development and what I use it for. Lots of great aftermarket products for the TXT, will be purchasing safety belts for both front and rear seats. Wish the cart felt safer than other carts I have driven. Rides a little rough when driving possibly because it is raised and has large tires. Don't have a stock cart for comparison.
