ST ANDREWS, SCOTLAND (August 16, 2024) — Club Car®, a global leader in innovation and design for golf cars, low-speed utility vehicles and personal-use transportation has extended its long relationship with the world’s oldest and most iconic golf venue after delivering a new fleet of golf and utility vehicles to St Andrews Links.
The prestigious Scottish venue, where golf has been played for nearly 600 years, upgraded its golf and utility vehicles for the operation of its seven public courses, including the Old Course, a 30-time Open Championship venue.
“We pride ourselves on working with the very best,” said Danny Campbell, Commercial Director for St Andrews Links. “Since Club Car became an official supplier in 2016, they have provided the highest quality of vehicles and service support.”
“The cars are a crucial part of our operation, allowing our teams to work efficiently and giving golfers an enjoyable and memorable experience,” Campbell added.
The new Club Car fleet includes innovative capabilities that provide a range of benefits to the St Andrews Links team. While the award-winning golf vehicles transport players safely and comfortably around the links, the versatile utility vehicles are used by the course ranger team and media staff, who frequently shuttle equipment and VIP guests around the site for filming.
The fleet also includes a combination of 6- and 8-seater transporter models used to transport golfers between the Links Clubhouse, Old Pavilion and Old Course first tee.
Each car is equipped with Club Car Connected technology for the St Andrews Links team to easily monitor the condition of the fleet, maintain course boundaries and communicate directly with the vehicles.
“Club Car is proud of the strong relationship we have with the St Andrews Links team supporting the largest public golf complex in Europe,” said Andy Bourke, Club Car Regional Manager for UK, Ireland and Scandinavia. “Over the last eight years and it has been a pleasure to provide first-class service, our unmatched products and technology to help them deliver a unique and memorable experience to thousands of golfers each year.”
Established in 1974, St Andrews Links Trust oversees the management and maintenance of the Links courses at St Andrews – the Old Course, New Course, Jubilee Course, Eden Course, Strathtyrum Course, Balgove Course and The Castle Course – with more than 230,000 rounds played over them every year.
