Club Car Precedent 48v Intermittent Problem Question:
I have a 2012 Club Car Precedent 48v electric cart that will suddenly stop working. It has brand new batteries, and seems fine, but randomly will not move when pushing the pedal. It will lurch forward then stop again, or it may work normal after changing the f/r switch, key switch, or even the run/tow switch. It may run fine most of the round after it acts up, or it has also cut out a few times as well. When coming to a stop, the clicking sound I heard a few seconds after the cart stops, but I’m not sure if this is the case just before it stops working, because it’s a random problem. Any thoughts? Essentially, what you are describing is a power outage to the system. The clicking noise you are hearing is the solenoid disengaging due to lack of power. Therefore, I would check the terminals for cleanliness has acid build up can lead to deteriorating cable connections effecting power flow. Next, I would leave the car on in a “On” state and start checking the wires connected from the batteries to the ignition to the solenoid. Somewhere in that wiring is most likely a loose connection affecting power to flow to the power system of the vehicle.
