Forestville, Sydney – According to the police, An alleged 21-year-old man, was under the influence of alcohol and is being charged with multiple offenses which cover:
- Take and drive away conveyance
- Assault occasioning bodily harm
- Common Assault
Early Saturday, March 4th, at around 6:30 AM golfers attended the Long Reef Golf Course which includes a 49-year-old man from Forestville joined with a Collaroy Plateau.
The said accused was approaching the group on the sixth hole when he reportedly stole and drove away with the golfers’ cart and was hysterically laughing.
Both the former golfers as mentioned chased the drunk young man but ended up with a bizarre chase as he was driving in a zig-zag pattern and in circles so as to avoid being caught.
The 21-year-old man landed the cart on a sand bunker and was trying to run away but the accused was reportedly taken down but ended up with a wrestle among the groups.
The assault was taken to another level as the accused allegedly bit the 49-year-old man for about 30 seconds on the left forearm that forcefully led to bleeding.
Before fleeing, the 21-year-old hit the 49-year-old golfer on the back of the head several times.
Other golfers and the police joined in the commotion and successfully took the drunk young man down and was arrested.
