AUGUSTA, GA – The Masters is here and Augusta, GA is transforming into a world of golf carts. With Club Car’s support and initiative, golf carts parade around town outside business establishments for people to hop on and participate for a cause.
This year, golf cart manufacturer, Club Car is collaborating with First Tee of Augusta. This group aims to introduce young people to golf and how to better oneself with life skills.
Club Car’s goal is to entice people into entering a beneficial selfie contest where one is encouraged to hop on into the golf cart, take the best selfie, and post it on social media, particularly Instagram, with the hashtag #clubcarforacause.
According to Sarah Puls, marketing director for Club Car, they are hoping to raise $1500. Puls also joined the contest with her dog. “I felt confident that having my dog, Sammie, with me to take our selfie together would help me win the selfie contest,” Puls said.
Currently, a reported 83 golf carts circulates around Augusta which has been traditionally going on for about 25 years. Fred Palmer, Vice President of golf business development for Club Car said, “It began very small with some people around the community saying I’d really like a golf cart to put in front of my business, and then others saw and it kind of morphed to today.”
So if you are around Augusta, don’t hesitate to join the fun, snap a quick selfie, and participate in the contest for a cause. Who knows you could be the next selfie winner!
