One of the most famous American directors, producers, and screenwriters, Steven Spielberg, was spotted driving a golf cart around Universal Studios
The 72 year old, highest grossing director in history use to sneak through the gates of Universal Studios during his teenage years in the early summer of 1960. He snuck into the studios hoping he could learn something about filmmaking. Now, he doesn’t only get to enjoy a free-pass into the area, but can also spend his time leisurely driving golf carts around it.
While touring around the studio with his golf cart, Spielberg reminisces about what happened to him that summer where he sneaked into the Studio. Fortunately, he was given a 3-day pass to enjoy the place and grabbed the opportunity to see big stars and engrossed himself with films and other amenities that they offered.
While Spielberg was giving his tour, Universal Studios was teeming with other golf carts as well (see video here). He drove the golf cart into Courthouse Square where Back to the Future was filmed. Driving around his battery-operated vehicle, he joyfully pointed out a street sign that’s named after him. “I love that! That’s one of the greatest honors of my life. To be able to share a street side with James Steward,” said Spielberg.
Spielberg made a couple of pit stops with his golf cart at every set that was used to shoot his films, and tries to give lectures and insights into what was going on, his struggles, and what needed to be done while shooting films.
Some of his tour includes Amity Island from Jaws, Bates Motel, the set for How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and many other films. In addition, Spielberg’s famous work includes Jaws, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, and Jurassic Park which landed him a box office record.
