COLUMBIA COUNTY, GA – A bigger and better golf cart distribution center is expanding its business area with Club Car’s new 556,686 square foot warehouse located in Columbia County.
The global leader in golf and utility vehicles made its site groundbreaking on Monday, March 19th, at 11:00 AM with County officials and Club Car representatives.
The ceremonial thrust of shovels to the ground symbolizes the official kick-start of the project that sits at the site of Appling Harlem Highway in Columbia County northwest of interstate I-20.
Club Car is the first tenant in the 271.9 acres industrial park at I-20 Exit 183. It signed a lease with their developer, Prologis Logistic Services Incorporated. Given the new location, Club Car’s branch in Evans and Augusta will remain operational.
The expansion of Club Car in the massive industrial park aims to better the distribution and demands of consumers looking for golf carts. However, it also open new opportunities for about 100 employees to fill the distribution center.
Club Car has long been a trusted employer for Columbia County, and the Development Authority hopes to see a booming economic success in the area with more industry and job opening opportunities.
Mark Wagner, Club Car President said, “Our investment in this new facility signals our commitment to our employees, the community and the customers we serve. It allows us to consolidate our parts and materials warehouses, while this modern work environment will provide our employees with an atmosphere that enhances operations and fosters team engagement and productivity.”
The company wants to work their way to improving their brand to consumers and meet demands more efficiently with their combined operation in the new site.
Hugh Hollar, chairman of the development authority of Columbia County, said, “The Development Authority of Columbia County values Club Car’s continued commitment to our community. They have been a significant long time community partner and we relish the fact they are continuing their presence in Columbia County.”
When it comes to quality vehicles and exemplary services, Club Car has maintained its name and rank since 1958. Today, the company has kept its name at the top as it manufactures golf carts, commercial utility vehicles and personal use transportation.
