NASHVILLE, Tenn.- On Wednesday a man was accused of using his Mercedes to ram a golf cart-style taxi.
Paul Edward Swearns is charged with aggravated assault due to the incident.
According to an affidavit, the victim said he pulled onto Broadway going westbound between 4th Avenue North and 5th Avenue North when Swearns appeared behind him and struck the golf cart taxi three times.
The victim told police Swearns was yelling and swearing at him before the crash. The incident caused significant damage, including breaking off the steel license plate mounting bracket.
When officers arrived, they said Swearns smelled of alcohol and admitted to drinking beer prior to the accident. When police gave Swearns a sobriety test, he failed.
